We're seeking a strategic and technically experienced leader to join our team as Director of Advanced Technology Solutions. This role is at the intersection of technology leadership and solution architecture—ideal for someone with a strong consulting background and deep hands-on experience in software development and cloud technologies. The successful candidate will guide the design and delivery of cutting-edge digital solutions across complex environments, with a focus on innovation, scalability, and impact across both public and private sectors.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    Bridge technical and non-technical teams, translating complex concepts for executives and policymakers. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align solutions with program objectives and provide expert guidance.
  • Business Development & Pre-Sales
    Assist in developing persuasive value propositions for Canadian clients. Utilize expertise in technology, cloud infrastructure, software development, big data, analytics, and AI to create customized solutions. Contribute to proposal development and solution design showcasing the firm’s strengths in research, advisory services, and technical implementation.
  • Technology Evaluation & Implementation
    Stay current on emerging technologies and best practices. Recommend and lead the adoption of new tools, platforms, and methodologies to modernize government systems. Oversee implementation and ensure seamless integration.
  • Security & Compliance
    Ensure all solutions, systems, and processes meet regulatory requirements, align with internal security policies, and reflect industry best practices. Strengthen the overall cybersecurity posture through proactive risk management.
  • Architecture
    Assess existing digital ecosystems and define future-state architectures. Develop strategic and tactical blueprints and technical roadmaps that align with organizational objectives and regulations. Lead the design and deployment of scalable, secure, and efficient IT solutions for government programs.
  • Policy Analysis
    Analyze current and upcoming policies or legislation to evaluate their implications, risks, and opportunities. Provide actionable recommendations that support broader strategic goals.
  • Relationship Management
    Act as a primary contact for clients and community stakeholders. Understand and represent diverse needs, ensuring expectations are met or exceeded. Foster strong, lasting relationships as a trusted partner.
  • Writing & Thought Leadership
    Produce high-quality written content such as white papers, strategic reports, and thought leadership articles. Ensure deliverables are engaging, insightful, and aligned with project objectives.
  • Project Management
    Lead multiple, concurrent projects with tight deadlines. Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies to ensure delivery success.
  • Team Collaboration
    Work closely with interdisciplinary and geographically distributed teams. Effectively engage technical experts to co-develop impactful recommendations and innovative solutions.

Qualifications

  • 10+ Yoe of experience in consulting within the public and private sectors.
  • 10+ Yoe of software development experience, including a minimum of five years in an architect-level position.
  • OCAP certification (required).
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, and containerization tools like Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise-level application, infrastructure, and data architecture.
  • Familiarity with frameworks and platforms including .NET, Node.js, React, Angular, React Native, etc.
  • Solid understanding of AI, data, and cybersecurity, including tools, use cases, and development practices.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Java.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make critical decisions on scalability, security, and performance. Able to clearly communicate these decisions to stakeholders.
  • Deep knowledge of software design principles and architectural best practices.
  • Experience working in agile environments with hands-on understanding of agile methodologies.
  • Strong grasp of DevSecOps practices with emphasis on CI/CD.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage complex work streams in a fast-paced environment, with decisive leadership in ambiguous contexts.
  • Attention to detail and a systems-thinking mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the Canadian public sector or adjacent organizations
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture.
  • Proficiency in French.
  • Relevant certifications in architecture and agile methodologies.

The base salary range for this role is between $183k to $235k CAD. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer
